The HDOT ESCP lighting replacement was a very challenging project that finished successfully for Pacific Power Electrical and is one of a project that we are very proud of. Work included replacing the existing lighting system, controls, conduit, wire and lights with a modern energy efficient system in Pali Tunnel, Wilson tunnel, H3 Hirano tunnel and Hospital Rock tunnel on Oahu, Hawaii. Work included state highway coordination, traffic control, excavations, new electrical service and distribution systems and lighting system for the Hirano, Hospital Rock, Wilson and Pali Tunnels. Over 4,000 new light fixtures and a few miles of conduit and wiring was installed as part of this project. The work for this project required a carefully coordinated effort with the state of Hawaii, HDOT, emergency services and public notification. H3, Pali and Wilson highways are major traffic arteries on Oahu. During construction the highways were completely closed to ensure the safety of our work crews. Work was performed at night for a little over a year.
